If you are still in the hunt for a full-time job or internship, I know it can be frustrating and even demoralizing. It may seem like everyone you know has lined up a position beginning this summer, but you are not alone. Competition is tight for every position right now, with most listings receiving hundreds of applications. So if you have not landed that job yet, it is probably not because you have done something “wrong”.
Remember that your role as a job seeker is to communicate your sincere interest in the work done by a particular company, and why you are uniquely qualified for the role. Just matching up on tech skills alone may not help you stand out enough to receive an interview call. Help the reader see how you have applied those skills through your projects & experiences. Targeted project titles, descriptions using action verbs and selected course listings can help establish bodies of knowledge in key areas (i.e., courses, skills and projects all explicitly pointing to data science).
There are a few specialized opportunities available this week to help you work through some of your questions/concerns.
