So you’ve started your first week of classes, and now you’re starting to think about getting ready for your job/internship search…
The career fairs do come early this year, beginning with our CSC ePartners Career Connections on 9/19, followed by the Engineering Career Fair on 9/20 & 9/21.
I’ve put together a few program options to help you get ready for these events, and the on campus interviews that follow the fairs.
The first one is Navigating Networking Events, on 8/31, sponsored by NetApp. Click here to register.
This program is open to graduate level Computer Science students at NC State. Graduate students often attend networking events where valuable contacts for future internships and jobs can be established. However, if a positive impression is not made in these settings, it can backfire for new professionals. This program, will provide a seminar on professional behaviors and expectations for receptions and networking events. Students will then have an opportunity to practice what they’ve learned in a networking session with local employers and alumni. Navigating Networking Events is timed early in the semester, in order to give students an advantage as they begin the fall recruiting season.
I also am offering small group sessions on topics like Resumes on a regular basis. This is a great way to get your questions answered face to face. Please find the CSC small groups in ePACK, under Workshops. Keyword search CSC to find all of the ones that are just for you!
